Job Summary
Montgomery County ESD # 6, (Porter Fire Department) is seeking applicants to fill two Firefighter positions. This will be a tested position. Montgomery County ESD # 6 is responsible for coverage of 52 square miles. We are located in SE Montgomery County on the Highway 59 corridor just on the outskirts of Houston. We are a rapidly growing community currently with over 20,000 residents. Montgomery County ESD # 6 provides structural fire protection, basic rescue services, 1st responder, water rescue, wild land firefighting, fire prevention, and fire education services.
Position Description
This position will provide the candidate with a great opportunity to be part of a progressive and highly trained department. You will respond to structural fires, basic rescue services, 1st responder, water rescue, wild land firefighting, fire prevention, and fire education services. Continual training and certification programs available.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma
18 years of age
Basic certification for structural fire suppression from the T.C.F.P.
EMT-B through Texas Department of Health or National Registry.
Candidates should have a Texas class C Drivers License or better and must obtain a Class B within 90 days of hire date.
Benefits
Base Salary of $30,800 annually based on 212 hours on a 28 day cycle, (this figure does not represent overtime).
457 retirement plan, ESD contributes 10 % of your base annual salary.
Health and life insurance paid by the Department (dependent insurance available, the ESD pays up to $500.00 toward the family insurance plan).
Dental and vision insurance (dependent insurance available)
